Delaware Electric Cooperative (DEC) is excited to announce the release of a new smartphone application for Android or Apple iPhone smartphones. "The "Beat the Peak" In-Home Indicator was developed in 2010 to further assist our members as to when a peak was occurring on our system of DEC. This new app puts the In-Home Indicator right in the users pocket and gives DEC one more way to alert members.

Once downloaded onto a smartphone, the new "Beat the Peak" app performs exactly like the In-Home Indicator that over 43,000 current DEC members plug into their wall socket. A Green light means all is normal. A Yellow light means their will be a system peak occurring within one hour. A Red light means there is currently a system peak. "Along with the traditional function of the app, there are also additional benefits," said Rob Book, Assistant Vice President, Member Services for DEC. "The app will alert you when the next "Beat the Peak" time is set by DEC system operators and it will alert you when the peak time begins. It also gives the user the ability to customize their alert settings," he added. To download the new application to your smartphone Android users can click this link. Apple users can visit their Apple iTunes account or click this link.
