DEC To Host Open House

 Delaware Electric will host an open house for members on Saturday, April 28th from 10:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Cooperative’s headquarters located at 14198 Sussex Highway near Greenwood. 

The open house will include food, kid-friendly activities, safety demonstrations and tours of our building and new warehouse. This is the perfect event to learn more about how Delaware Electric Cooperative, “Keeps the Lights On.” 

During the open house members will also have the chance to learn about how DEC is improving reliability and the cost savings associated with its popular “Beat the Peak” program. Linemen will be on hand to show the public the tools they use to restore power during major outages and energy experts will be available to answer any questions members may have. 

An electric vehicle will also be on display at the event – DEC has been receiving lots of questions about the range and efficiency of electric vehicles. The event is free for Co-op members and will be held rain or shine.

According to DEC President and CEO Bill Andrew, “From solar energy to electric cars, our business is changing quickly. We’ll update members on these evolving technologies at our open house while providing them with a behind-the scenes look at the day-to-day operations of the Co-op. We hope to see everyone in Greenwood on April 28th.”
