Co-op Linemen Compete in Regional Competition

Delaware Electric Cooperative linemen showed off their skills on March 27th and 28th at the Terex Gaff-n-Go Equipment and Linemen’s Rodeo. The event was held at the Caroline County Fairgrounds in Virginia and featured dozens of teams from across the Mid-Atlantic. Co-op linemen placed 4th out of 30 teams, missing the chance to travel to the national competition by just three seconds.

Linemen Dave Morgan, Brent Elzey, Mike Layton and Shawn Rogers participated in the event, proudly representing DEC competing in a pole climbing competition, hurt-man rescue, insulator change out competition and several other events. Many DEC employees and their families traveled to Virginia to cheer on our linemen and we congratulate them on a job well done. DEC linemen plan to enter the competition again next year.
