High school seniors attending a college or trade school in the Fall of 2023 can apply for the VMDAEC scholarship starting January 30.

It’s no secret that going to college can be expensive — that’s why applying for scholarships is so important. While you might not traditionally think to look to your local Co-op for help in this arena, if you are served by one from Virginia, Maryland or Delaware, think again! High school students graduating in the spring of 2023 with plans to continue their education in the fall are eligible to apply for the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives (VMDAEC) Education Scholarship. This scholarship was created to help students starting their first semester at a two or four-year college or trade school by awarding them $1,000 to apply toward tuition, student fees, textbooks or room and board expenses. The association will begin accepting applications on January 30, 2023, with the final submission deadline set for April 3. Applications will then be assessed by the VMDAEC board of directors in three qualifying categories: financial need, academic achievement and the applying student’s personal statement. For full details on who is eligible and how to apply, visit vmdaec.com/scholarship or send any questions to [email protected].
