Beat the Peak Saves Members Millions!
Oct. 5, 2022 | Co-op News
DEC is proud to announce that our Beat the Peak program has saved members more than $2 million in 2022! We couldn’t have done it without you — our member-owners. Thanks to your efforts in conserving energy, the program is helping to stabilize electric rates as the cost to produce and deliver energy continues to rise. Beat the Peak alerts are issued when the price of energy is high, and they generally take place during the hot summer months. We ask members to voluntarily conserve energy during alert times, which lowers the overall cost for power. Since 2008, this important program has saved members more than $38 million. There are several ways to participate. Please download our Beat the Peak app from the app store on your mobile device. By downloading the app, you will receive notifications every time the Co-op issues a Beat the Peak alert. Just search for “Beat the Peak” in the app store on your mobile device. Members can also Beat the Peak by participating in our Beat the Peak with EVs and Beat the Peak with Thermostats programs. By participating, members may also be eligible to receive billing credits.
