Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge

Bombay Hook was established in 1937 as part of a chain of refuges stretching from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico. It serves as a refuge and a breeding ground for migrating birds and other wildlife. Bombay Hook has become a more important refuge in recent years because of the loss of the birds’ natural habitats along their migration trail. Portions of the park are designated research areas. The refuge offers visitors a 12-mile wildlife drive, five walking trails, three observation towers and multiple hunting and wildlife photography opportunities. The refuge is open to the public every day from a half-hour before sunrise to a half-hour after sunset.
