Co-op Scholarships Available to Students
Jan. 27, 2025 | Co-op News
Do you know a high school or home school senior with plans to start their first semester at college or a trade school in the fall of 2025? If so, they may be eligible for a scholarship from the Virginia, Maryland and Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives (VMDAEC) Education Scholarship Foundation! Each year, DEC teams up with the VMDAEC and awards $1,000 scholarships to students whose parents or legal guardians are members of our Co-op. Applicants are scored on three criteria: financial need, academic achievement and their personal statement. If selected to receive a scholarship, students can use the money to help cover the costs of textbooks, room and board, tuition and their student fees. At Delaware Electric Cooperative, we pride ourselves on providing opportunities for the next generation of Co-op members to empower their futures, and offering the VMDAEC scholarship is just one way we achieve that goal. For those interested in applying and to get full details on scholarship eligibility and requirements, visit
