For almost 20 years, DEC employees have had the opportunity to make the holiday season a little bit brighter for children in need within our service territory. Working with the Children’s Choice organization, our team once again participated in the annual Angel Tree initiative. This program provides presents to underprivileged children throughout five states including Delaware, and DEC was proud to do our part for those whose homes we serve in Kent and Sussex counties.

This year, our employee team came together to purchase presents for about 40 children across our service territory. “It’s a good feeling to be part of a workplace that recognizes the importance of giving back,” says DEC employee Teresa McCann, who has been the Angel Tree coordinator for the Co-op since it began participating in the program. “I am always blown away by how our employees show up for these children and make sure that they have something to open on Christmas morning. It just makes this time of year even more special.”
