Delaware Electric Cooperative’s President and CEO has been honored for his nearly two-decades of faithful service to the Cooperative and its members. Bill Andrew was presented with the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s (NRECA) Regional Award for Outstanding Service on September 9th in Charlotte, N.C.

The award is presented to individuals who have a proven record of promoting cooperative values and working tirelessly to serve members. Andrew’s ability to empower members to keep their rates low and his work to engage more than 140 DEC employees were cited as a few of the many reasons he was bestowed this honor.

During his acceptance speech, Andrew told the crowd of several hundred people, “This award has to be spread among many, especially the 142 employees at Delaware Electric Cooperative who work every day safely and productively to meet the ever-changing needs of our members.”

Andrew has served as President and CEO of Delaware Electric Cooperative since January of 2005. In his ten years at the helm of the Cooperative, Andrew has worked to turn DEC into a leading utility in the areas of demand-side management, economic development and member-empowerment. He is an aggressive leader, promoting the cooperative difference and investing his time and energy into creating an engaged and efficient workforce.

Delaware Electric Cooperative is a member-owned electric utility serving 90,000 member-owners in Kent and Sussex counties. For more information, visit us on the web at www.delaware.coop or www.beatthepeak.coop or follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
