As a not-for-profit electric co-op, DEC doesn’t have customers - we have members! What’s the difference? As a DEC member, you actually own the Co-op, which means you and everyone else on our lines are entitled to all of its profits. Your investment ensures that our employee family can continue to provide safe, reliable electric to the people and places we power. We also offer the lowest rates in the region. Since it was first established by farmers in the 1930s, DEC has maintained a mindset of being member-focused, meaning what is best for you will always be our top priority. We are proud to be member-built and member-owned and believe that everyone is entitled to affordable energy.
