DEC's Annual Meeting Schedule of Events

The Annual Meeting of Delaware Electric Cooperative will be held this year at the Delaware State Fairgrounds (in air-conditioned buildings) in Harrington, Delaware on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, with registration to open at 3:00 p.m.  The Business Meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. Action will be taken on the following matters:

(1) Registration of members attending the meeting.

(2) Report of officers.

(3) In connection with the election of four (4) Directors scheduled for this meeting, the following candidates for Directors of Cooperative District Numbers 2, 5, 8 and At-Large have been nominated by petition pursuant to the ByLaws.

(4) Members will also vote on proposed amendments to DEC’s Bylaws. The proposed amendments will not change any policies or procedures. Proposed changes include updating Bylaw text to capitalize all references to “Cooperative,” updating Bylaw language to accurately reflect legal partnerships in Delaware, and other grammatical changes. A full list of proposed edits can be found on our website at delaware.coop. Members can view the full list of changes at our headquarters at 14198 Sussex Highway Greenwood, DE 19950. Members can also request a copy of proposed Bylaws be mailed to them by calling 302-349-3118. Copies of proposed Bylaw changes will also be available at our annual meeting.
