The Co-op is committed to providing reliable power to our members.

Happy New Year from your Delaware Electric Cooperative family! We wish that this year brings our members good health and happiness. In 2023, we also hope the First State is able to avoid any major winter storms, hurricanes or other severe weather events that can cause power outages. While we’ll keep our fingers crossed for Mother Nature to be kind to us, our dedicated team will do what it always does: plan, monitor and be prepared for weather events that can wreak havoc on our poles, power lines and equipment. In 2023, our lineworkers and engineers will install even more advanced automated devices across the system that can quickly restore power to members. Early this year, we expect a new solar farm in Greenwood to be energized that will provide members with a local and affordable source of clean energy. The Diamond State Solar Farm is being built in partnership with the not-for-profit Old Dominion Electric Cooperative and features 35 acres of solar panels that will power hundreds of homes. Five additional solar projects will power thousands of Co-op homes by 2024. Finally, we will continue to work to keep rates affordable by utilizing our Beat the Peak programs, which ask members to voluntarily conserve energy when the cost of power is very high. No matter what 2023 has in store for us, we promise to always be there for you. Whether you are without power or have a question about your energy use, we’ll be ready to help!
