GREENWOOD, Del.- Delaware Electric Cooperative (DEC) will host its annual community fair and business meeting on Tuesday, August 15th at the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington.

Members of the Co-op will enjoy a complimentary chicken dinner, an opportunity to meet with various community organizations as well as an update on the state of the Cooperative from President and CEO Rob Book.

Several thousand people are expected to attend the 87th annual meeting of the member-owned Cooperative. The community fair and dinner will begin at 3 p.m. in the Centre Ice Rink, followed by the business meeting at 7 p.m. in the Dover Building.

“We look forward to meeting thousands of Co-op members at our Annual Meeting this year. We also enjoy providing updates on the progress DEC has made since our last meeting," said Book.

Another highlight of DEC’s Annual Meeting is the utility demonstration, where Co-op line crews showcase how they keep the lights on. These demonstrations will be held at 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. outside the Centre Ice Rink.

Live music will be provided by Junior Wilson and the Jones Boys, and members of Delaware Electric Cooperative are encouraged to bring their family members to enjoy the music and food. There will also be a chance for members to win a $50 billing credit.

“We encourage members to come to connect with their Cooperative and community. Our DEC family is excited to see everyone once again,” said Book.
