Delaware Electric Cooperative Hosts 2026 Annual Meeting

GREENWOOD, Del. — Delaware Electric Cooperative (DEC) will host its Annual Meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 11, at Memorial Hall at the Delaware State Fairgrounds. The event provides members with an opportunity to meet Cooperative employees and learn more about the programs and services that support the more than 123,000 members served by the Co-op. 

Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by an ice cream social featuring locally made treats from Vanderwende's Farm Creamery and Hopkins Farm Creamery, two Delaware businesses powered by DEC. Members will have the opportunity to browse educational displays highlighting Cooperative programs, services and operations. The ice cream social and displays will continue until 7 p.m., when the business meeting will begin, also in Memorial Hall. 

"Our Annual Meeting is an important opportunity for members to connect with their Cooperative and learn more about the work being done to serve them," said President and CEO Rob Book. "We encourage members to join us, meet our team, ask questions and hear updates about the issues that affect our Cooperative and the communities we serve."

During the business meeting, members will receive updates on several key issues affecting the Cooperative and the communities it serves. President and CEO Rob Book is expected to discuss DEC's efforts to protect members from the impacts of hyperscale data centers, review the Cooperative's response to the historic February blizzard and provide an update on how DEC continues to offer electric rates that are among the most affordable in the region. Members will also have an opportunity to ask questions and hear directly from Cooperative leadership.
