DEC's linemen team poses for photos with their awards at the Gaff-N-Go Lineworker Rodeo awards ceremony.

As most of our members know, DEC linemen don’t disappoint. Whether hard at work on the lines that power our communities or – as they did on May 13th and 14th – participating in a friendly competition against counterparts from across the country, they have the dedication and skill to get the job done. Our team brought their all to this year’s Gaff-N-Go Lineworker Rodeo, held in Doswell, VA, and from their achievements in the competition, it’s clear that all their hard work paid off. Apprentice Jared Campbell kicked off DEC’s winning streak, placing third in the CPR with A.E.D. competition. DEC’s journeyman team of Dave Morgan, Philip Collison and Mike Layton continued with the wins, placing third in both the Climbing Skills Demonstration and Transformer and Streetlight Change, as well as placing second in the 600 Amp Vertical Switch Change and Overall Journeyman Team competition. Morgan, Collison and Layton also earned the Co-op the designation of Overall Virginia, Maryland and Delaware Cooperative Winner. Congratulations to our team on a great weekend of competition!
