Whether you’re looking for a better understanding of how much electricity your home uses or want more usage information about specific appliances and devices, DEC’s six online energy calculators can provide you with the answers you’re looking for.

Our Home Energy Calculator uses information such as the number of people in your home, the size of your home and average thermostat settings to calculate your annual energy usage. Learn how much energy individual appliances in your home use on a yearly or monthly basis by using our Appliances Calculator. Did you know that some devices, even when not in use, can draw small amounts of power when they are left plugged in? Find out how much these energy vampires may be costing you with our Phantom Energy Calculator. If your home utilizes a heat pump, make sure you are using the most efficient type with our Heat Pump Calculator. By inputting information about your home’s size, design, air tightness and average heating and cooling settings, you can compare a variety of heat pumps’ annual energy costs based on their Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) rating. If you use space heaters around your home, you may be interested in our Space Heater Calculator. You can calculate the total usage of these temporary heating solutions by providing the calculator with the number of space heaters you use, their wattages, the number of days you use them and the number of hours per day they are operational. For all the Christmas decoration enthusiasts on our lines, DEC even has a Holiday Lighting Calculator, which can provide you with your overall energy usage — and energy cost — when you decide to deck the halls next December.
