The Co-op was founded on the idea that everyone deserves steadfast electric service to power their daily lives. Today, our DEC team is even more committed to providing our 120,000 member-owners with the quality power they have come to rely on. Through summer storms and winter weather, our members can count on us to keep their lights on. Through our members’ continued support and investment in us, the Co-op is able to maintain and grow our system using innovative technologies and strategies to prevent outages — and to restore power faster when outages do occur! Unlike for-profit utilities, the only stakeholders we have to answer to are the people and places we serve. 

Our priority will always be to provide safe, reliable electric at the most affordable rates possible. While you may not find a package from DEC under your tree this Christmas, know that we are proud to deliver a present you can’t unwrap: the gift of not-for-profit power.
