Congratulations on becoming a member of Delaware Electric Cooperative – better known as DEC - the only not-for-profit electric co-op in the state! We are so happy to welcome you to our lines, and even more proud to provide you with the most reliable, affordable and sustainable power possible. We are different from for-profit utilities, in that our focus is always on people, not profits. At DEC, you're not a customer – you're a member, meaning you actually own part of the Co-op. When you pay your bill each month, you are making an investment in DEC, and your investment empowers us to maintain and grow our system to continue to meet our ultimate goal: empowering the lives of the people and places we serve. Your meter is set, your lights are on - you're officially a member! Now, we encourage you to take advantage of everything your member experience has to offer. Get started by checking out the tools and resources listed below:
- Create Your Online SmartHub Account – Pay your bill, monitor your energy usage and more through your DEC SmartHub account! Sign up today to access all your account details from your home computer or your mobile device.
- Multiple Ways to Pay – From mailing in your monthly bill payment to paying through the Co-op's DEC Connect app, we offer a variety of payment options that will work for everyone!
- Report an Outage – Learn about all of the ways you can report a power outage.
- Participate in Beat the Peak – This program has saved members more than $46 million since 2008. There are many ways to help DEC Beat the Peak - start by downloading our Beat the Peak App. If you own an electric vehicle or a programmable thermostat, the Co-op will offer you credits to conserve energy!
- Energy Savings – Learn how you can conserve energy in your home by using our online Energy Calculators.
- Learn How DEC Lineworkers Restore Power – Have you ever wondered how electricity reaches your home? More importantly, have you ever wondered how DEC lineworkers get your lights back on when an outage occurs? We've got your answers here!
