How to Vote!

As a member-owner of Delaware Electric Cooperative, you are entitled to vote for who represents your interests on our board of directors and for any proposed Bylaw changes. Members can vote via a secure electronic ballot at https://www.directvote.net/DECI. Members can also vote via mail-in ballot, through DEC’s online member SmartHub portal, or in person this year. On July 10, members with an email address on file with the Co-op will receive an email with voting credentials and instructions on how to securely cast their ballot. Members without a valid email address will be mailed credentials and voting instructions. Those who wish to vote through a mail-in ballot can request one after July 10 by calling 302-349-3162 or emailing [email protected]. Online voting will open at 8:00 a.m. on July 10 and will close at 8:00 p.m. on August 10. If you do not receive an email or a letter in the mail regarding Co-op voting by July 18, please email [email protected]. Mail in ballots must be received by our election provider no later than August 10. Members who prefer to vote in person can do so at DEC’s Annual Meeting on Tuesday August 15 at the Delaware State Fairgrounds. In-person voting will take place from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the Centre Ice Rink. Members voting in person are asked to bring a photo ID with them. Members who experience issues with voting can call 952-974-2339 from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Please note, members who joined the Cooperative before July 1, 2023, are eligible to vote in this year’s election.
