Delaware Electric Cooperative believes young Delawareans are our future. As an organization, we want to help develop the future leaders within our membership for the betterment of the communities we power. One way we do this is through promoting the Virginia, Maryland and Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives (VMDAEC) Education Scholarship.

Each year, the VMDAEC Educational Foundation offers $1,000 scholarships to high school and homeschool seniors planning on attending their first semester at a college or university in the fall. Applicants must be served by DEC and applications are selected based on students’ financial need, academic achievement and their personal statement. If selected, students can use their scholarship funds to cover a variety of their educational expenses, including tuition, student fees, room and board, or textbooks. For full details on the application process and submission requirements, visit https://vmdaec.com/scholarship/. The deadline to submit online applications is Monday, April 1.
